It is not about the size of your business; no matter what the size is, accounting is one business process that one needs to undertake. An income statement a.k.a. Profit & Loss, is a summary of income received and expenses reported during a stated period. The periods are usually stated in monthly, quarterly, or annual terms.
A mid-month income statement can misrepresent the data. For instance, if your business records most of your sales in the first 7 days of the month but does not record expenses till after the 20th of the month. When my daughter asked me if I would be interested in helping her in her online business I jumped right on it. What a way to make some money. Then I thought okay, that’s great, but how would I get that money. She told me about PayPal.
